Colorado Rockies lose to Miami Marlins 4-7 – MLB Recap
The Colorado Rockies lost to Miami Marlins 4-7 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, May 21 at Marlins Park, Miami in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Right fielder Giancarlo Stanton played suburb for the Miami and earned great appreciation from the management. He hit a grand slam in the fourth and gave the Marlins clear lead of two runs which eventually proved the winning factor for them.
"Maybe the farthest, I don't know about the hardest. But that was pretty good." Stanton said with confidence.
Former White Sox ace Mark Buehrle played well for the Marlins as he received only five hits and four runs.
"When you talk about bulldog, when you talk about gamer, there's a lot of fake out there. There's a lot of fake bulldogs. This kid's for real." Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen said of Buehrle.
After losing the game, Rockies manager Jim Tracy talked to media and told them about the different aspects which were the main reasons behind his team’s loss and somewhat average performance of his players.
Rockies' manager Jim Tracy said, "It's hard to win when you get 3 2/3 from your starter and over 100 pitches, We get four hits and four runs with the first five hitters in the game and we get one hit and two walks from the second inning on."
The Rockies’ took the early lead in the very first inning as they made four quick runs with the help of Cuddyer and short stop Troy Tulowitzki.
Soon Marlins got their composure in the third as they rallied past the Rockies with smooth chasing and eventually pushed them behind leading three runs’ lead into bottom seventh.
Though the Rockies tried to come back in the game, but the Marlins relief offence was powerful as they kept them under pressure and eventually took the game away in the last inning.
The Marlins with this win, now stands at third position in the National League East Division with .548 win percentage. Both teams once again will face each other on Tuesday, May 22 on the same venue.
