Colorado Rockies lose to Texas Rangers 1-4 – MLB Recap
The Colorado Rockies lost to Texas Rangers 1-4 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Friday, June 22 at Rangers Ballpark in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Currently the Rangers are having a great run as this particular win was their seventh straight victory.
Roy Oswalt played brilliantly and tossed firm 6.2 innings and received only one run. He also gave only one earned run and maintained his 1.35 ERA.
"I won't tell you I wasn't nervous, If you don't have butterflies, you might as well get out of the game." said Oswalt.
Oswalt added, “My command felt pretty good, I was able to keep the ball down in the zone. The command of all my pitches was there. If I can keep this kind of command all year, I'll be happy."
Later Rangers’ manager Ron Washington said with confidence, “I thought Roy Oswalt's performance was outstanding, He was around the plate with his fastball, he had a good changeup working, a good breaking ball and he kept the defense engaged. For the most part, he kept the ball down.”
On the other hand, the Rockies starter Christian Friedrich did not play well and could not save the game for his team.
He was hammered with four runs on seven hits. He also gave four earned runs and two homers as his ERA rose to 5.65.
Colorado Rockies’ at the moment are not at comfortable position. The way they are playing in this ongoing Major League season will not help them achieve any potential post season spot.
Though their batting lineup is performing but in order to show a balanced play they have to show their pitching resistance too.
The Rockies, at the moment are in fourth position with 26-43 win loss along with .377 winning percentage.
Experts believe that if the Rockies really want a post season spot then they have to achieve minimum .500 winning percentage.
