Colorado Rockies manager Jim Tracy not happy with Ubaldo Jimenez – MLB News
The Colorado Rockies’ manager Jim Tracy has taken serious action against Cleveland Indians pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez on intentionally hitting Troy Tulowitzki.
The incident happened on an exhibition game as Jimenez deliberately hit Rockies shortstop Tulowitzki. The Rockies manager Tracy was on the pitch when this incident happened. He has asked the Major League authorities to take extreme action and suspend him if needed.
The baseball commissioner Bud Selig now will see and judge who was guilty and if Jimenez found guilty, the Indians pitcher will face possible suspension by the MLB.
Tracy said, “It's the most gutless act I have seen in 35 years of professional baseball. I have lost all respect for him. He should be suspended. I am going to be very disappointed if he doesn't get suspended.”
He added, “Are you kidding me? Five days before opening day and you are going to take a potshot like that? I have lost all respect for him. Knowing what I know, knowing what took place last year, and where this team was at going into the second month of the season and doing what we did and he was nowhere to be found.”
These are some serious harsh words from the one who usually takes pride when heading the Rockies baseball franchise. He is an experienced campaigner and knows what went wrong on that day. He is heading the Rockies since 2009 and before taking over the Rockies managerial job, Tracy has worked with Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Experts believe that Jimenez might face five to six games suspension. Jimenez is also a former Rockies player and last year made his way into the Indians roster.
On the other hand, the way Tracy has showed his disgrace to his former player is certainly shocking for many. Some say that Tracy is right on his saying that Jimenez did certainly a shameful act and should be punished for it. While some say that Jimenez as well Tulowitzki both have an equal part in that particular hitting incident and the MLB authorities must look into this matter in detail.
