Colorado Rockies’ owner d**k Monfort shows confidence in his team – MLB News
Despite facing early defeats from couple of top professional teams, the Colorado Rockies owner d**k Monfort is confident regarding his franchise’s winning chances in this ongoing Major League Baseball season.
He lately commented in the media that his team is comprised of good individuals and will be competing with great toughness ahead in the season for sure.
He added explaining things as compared to last season’s performance, "We stunk last year. We've got the prettiest ballpark in America. We've got the best weather. I think we do everything in our power to let fans have the greatest experience, But really, at the end of the day, they are here to see us win. So that's what we have to do.”
Monfort further said describing little about the future predictions, “We have to win. We have to put out a competitive team that plays hard every game. We didn't show it this weekend, but I (still) think we will be a lot better. I like our offense. I like to see a team that can hit.”
The Rockies recently have suffered a huge blow when they were thrashed by the San Francisco Giants 7-0 while since then; the media is covering intensely mainly the failures of Rockies.
Some say, Giants pitching was exceptional in that particular game where the Rockies batting lineup could not even matched the level of those fast tossing blows by their opponents’ pitchers.
On the other hand, some baseball experts believe that the Rockies have some strategic flaws in them which were exposed on that very night when their all hitters could not find a single valuable shot to score.
Several experts also argue that the Rockies are considered a defensive side since many years now, but from last two years, they have been all over the place and facing lots of difficulties to regain the lost momentum.
Coming onto Monfort and his late comments, who certainly wants some big plays from his team in the coming days, also thinks that his team must follow the old traditions of the franchise and improve their game defensively which will ultimately give them a kind of sustainability where wins will not be far away.
