Colorado Rockies search for new manager continues – MLB Update
After Jim Tracy’s resignation, Colorado Rockies are now looking for a new potential manager for their organisation.
"The role of the manager is an important one as the leader of our team, We are looking for a proper fit for our organization and someone who can help us restore a winning culture as soon as possible." said Bill Geivett, the Rockies' vice president of Major League operations.
One Rockies' player, who commented to the media on the condition of anonymity said, "We are essentially being managed by the front office now, I'm really wondering what kind of manager — I'm talking about a good manager — would come in here and accept this."
Major League post-season is in full swing while for teams who could not qualify for the playoffs are making potential new game plans for the next baseball season.
Rockies also want to bring another game plan for the 2013 MLB season but first they need to sign a new manager for the team.
Previous manager Tracy has resigned recently after the Rockies suffered a record 98 losses in this Major League Baseball season.
“I was surprised, You know, Jim and I go back a long time. We worked together for three different clubs. Basically, Tracy called me and told me his intentions.” Bill Geivett said after Tracy resigned.
Colorado Rockies finished at the bottom in the National League West with 64 wins and 98 losses. Their winning percentage remained at .395 which also disturbed most of the fans as well as the franchise itself.
Meanwhile, according to some other sources, there is quite certain possibility that the Rockies are brining veteran first baseman Jason Giambi for a managerial job.
Though it is still a speculation, but Rockies did not deny their potential contact with Giambi while on their reluctance, some experts are sure that former Oakland Athletics first baseman is coming into Colorado as their new manager.
Giambi, with vast experience as professional baseball player in the league, certainly possesses some extraordinary skills and if he does come into the Rockies, the chances are high that their performance will set off with a new beginning.
