Colorado Rockies veteran Jamie Moyer focusing on pitching – MLB Update
The Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jamie Moyer is making more news regarding his age than his potentials in baseball. He is the oldest (49) and active player in 2012 Major League Baseball and making everybody astonished on his passion to play in this
age.
However, he on the other hand, is taking his game more serious than his age which is currently giving him more attention in across US.
Moyer explained with confidence about the attention he is having and what is his true reaction to it. He said, "I don't question it, I would rather put my energy and my focus into what I am supposed to do. I am preparing myself for every start, and if I
run into a glitch here and there, then I am going to have to deal with it."
Later Houston Astros’ Jordan Schafer also said for Moyer, "People are surprised by how many people he jams, but you just don't see guys flipping up 78 mph fastballs all the time. You're trying to wait, wait, Wait. After a guy like that comes out and you
see a guy come in throwing 96, it looks like 106.”
Moyer after starting two games currently playing with an ERA of 4.22 along with 0-2 win loss record, five strikeouts and 1.41 WHIP.
However, his career ERA is 4.24 along with 267-206 win loss, 2410 strikeouts and 1.32 WHIP actually makes him a good ball player.
Having vast 24-year of experience, Moyer has played with many Major League Baseball franchises including with the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, St Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners and Philadelphia Phillies.
His accomplishments include an All Star selection in 2003 along with a Roberto Clemente Award and a World Series ring with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008.
In the meanwhile, this a good sign for the Rockies that their one of the best pitchers is feeling much better and confident to do some fast plays in the coming days.
Experts believe if Jamie Moyer remained injury free this season, the chances are high that the Rockies’ results will be lot better than last season.
