1. We use COVA with my daughters, both in elementary school. It is free as well, so as far as worth the money, guess so. We do classes during the day as our schedule leads us, but there are some online sessions that you can attend, depending on your age and grade, as well as the teachers.

It is a very intense curriculum, and kids are ususally at leat a year ahead of what is covered in the brick in mortar schools in our district, so yes. You will get a good education, but it is still work. If you do well working on your own and enjoy learning this way, you will do well, otherwise, it might not be a good option for you.

I like it because it saves me a ton of time as an adult, being that I have the materials and course objectives. Personally, I don't use the materials too much though, I just know what I am going to teach and then I do so. I will take my daughters out when they go into the 3rd grade and must take a CSAP, since the CO state homeschooling laws don't require CSAP's but a different test, and I think the CSAP is a load of hooey.

Just my opinion, having been with COVA for two years, going into our third.

  2. i have no idea darlin' but the way that i home school sucks!!!!!!! but if you do homeschool next year and i do too than maybe we could do it together!!!!!!!

  3. I'm not familiar with Colorado Virtual's structure, but I am familiar with CDELA (www.cdela.com), and there are live on-line classes periodically throughout the week. There may be a day that there is an earlier class (not before 8am), but all classes are recorded if you have a conflict. CDELA is a tuition free program, so there are no costs involved.
