Colorado gun range/USA regulations?

Me and a friend want to go shooting to some range in Colorado. We want to shoot a semi-auto AK-47, and it's unregistered. Problem is we don't know whether the range will ask for licenses and what not. They do rent AK's though.

What's this registered garbage? As far as I know there is no licensing requirement in Colorado for firearms. If you and your friend are both 18 or over and have no criminal record that would prevent you from possessing a firearm then, I see no reason that you shouldn't be allowed to use the range.
