sorry but dose anyone know if colored contact lenses can cause vision damage because of the chemicals in them to give them the color??? Also how do you put them on...(^_^')

(as there are many kinds i am talking about the ones that say would give the effect of a union jack in our eye and can be removed)

thank you for your time (^.^)

p.s do you have to throw them away after every use or are they re-useable???

again thanx

  1. First, I would imagine that the ones with a design in them would probably be reusable; they'd be prohibitively expensive otherwise!

Secondly, they're not harmful to the eye itself, unless you develop an infection or scratch your eye inserting or removing them (which can happen with ANY contact).

Third, the only problem I've heard is that the contact can sometimes impair vision a bit, because you can only see out of the small aperture in the center of the contact; the design is semi-opaque, so you can't really see through it like you could a clear or tinted contact.

Finally, insertion is the same as any sort of contact; the ones that have a specific-direction design probably have micro-weights to keep them in place and in the right orientation.

You'd probably be best off asking these questions of the optometrist you're interested in purchasing these from.
