Question:

Colored contact lenses for "steep" eyes? No vision problems?

I have been told that my eyes are "steep". I have no idea what that means exactly, but I don't care so much because I don't have vision problems. But I have tried to wear contacts in the past and a few times they have literally slid out of my eyes. LOL.

basically, I don't need vision correction, I just want to know if I can purchase colored contacts for my "steep" eyes without a doctor. If so, how much do they run? I just wanna change my look a little for the summer. maybe a light brown or hazel... (hahaha i'm rambling. LOL sorry...)

either way, HELP MEH.

thanks.

  1. 'steep' eyes might mean Keratoconus which is not good, but then you would not have good vision, so don't worry. You should be able to wear plano lenses which have no optical power, but tend to be very thin. Contacts must only be gotten from an Optometrist, no matter what sort of visual acuity.

  2. A "Steep" cornea is one that has a smaller base curve. On a contact RX you'd see...  you'd see BC=8.2 or 8.3 or 8.4

Acuvue 2 Colors come in an 8.3 base curve. Your doctor will know the correct fit for you ultimately. :)

    Hope this helps   :)
