Question:

Colorizing a photo? HELP?

I have a photo that I want to make it all black and white except my shirt and jeans, I want them to stay the normal color.??? ive tried doin it on photoshop but i cant figure it out. if someone could even do it for me that would be great... let me know the easiest way to do this (without buying any software)

  1. In photoshop, there are lots of ways to do this, but this is the way I'd do it:

    Make a black & white copy of the image and put it under the colour one.

    Fill a mask on the colour layer, so that's it's transparent.

    Using a brush, paint onto the mask to reveal the colour layer where you want it.

    The reason I'd use a mask is because I can paint it back to transparent if I make a mistake.

    I'd probably want to tweak the colour channels on the colour layer to make it brighter.

  4. if you could post the photo, I could do it for you with Gimp. I would do it if the photo is a man's, as lady's photos would create problem, as i am in gent's hostel.
