Colors for bedrom furnishing?

i have alot of things i got for free (dresser night stand desk and bookshelf) but they are all differant colors so i want to paint them up and make them all match. what colors scheme do you think is nice i like bold colors like purple, teal, magenta, i also like black, i like light pastel colors too but i dont want it to look like a 5 year olds room... the walls have to stay white b/c its an apartment but i would like my stuff to stand out and be unique what so you think...

What you could do is make them all multi-colored with splashes of colors all over them in your favorite bold colors.

That would be a lot easier than trying to cover every inch of these pieces with the same color.  They would all match that way, and yet be distinctive, too.
