Colour Guard geared up to win Ladbrokes.Com Handicap
Colour Guard is geared up to add another epic victory to his portfolio by finishing first in the Ladbrokes.Com Handicap that will be held at York racecourse today, June 16. The Class 2 contest is set to commence at 2:35 (GMT).
On the soft track of 1 mile and 208 yards, the Mark Johnston-trained bay gelding will compete against a dozen of rivals including Fighter Boy, Navajo Chief, Halfsin, Hillview Boy, Dubai Dynamo, Tinshu, Extraterrestrial, Classic Colori, Oriental Scot, Barren
Brook, Area Fifty One and Staff Sergeant.
Colour Guard has fifty percent success ratio to his credit. The four-year-old novice runner has won 3 of his total 6 starts so far.
After debuting with a sterling success on February 10, 2012, the brilliant sprinter moved ahead to bag a couple of consecutive triumphs in the month of March. He also gained a runner-up rank during the same month.
Thus, the son of Shamardal out of Colorvista is awash with fighting spirit that augurs well for his going in today’s Handicap. If the horse manages to sustain his stamina, he will defiantly have up to 95 percent chances to finish first.
Oriental Scot is the runner who can impede Colour Guard in the race. The William Jarvis-trained veteran gelding elegantly finished first in his second last start on May 24, 2012. This was Hattons Solicitors Gold Membership Handicap that took place at Haydock.
The son of Selkirk out of Robe Chinoise stepped ahead to get a runner-up rank in the subsequent start on June 2. Prior to these two feats, he had gained a third on May 4.
At the moment, the horse is full of winning momentum that will help him take on Colour Guard confidently.
Among the other runners, Dubai Dynamo is likely to do well today. The Ruth Carr-trained bay gelding has won 10 of his total 78 starts so far. His last victory came on May 20, 2012. He finished 4th against 12 contestants in his last outing on June
9.
Thus, there will be a fierce battle in the race. Let us see who turns the tables. Good luck to all the runners.
