Colour Vision and Cavalryman set to clash in Pierce Henry II Stakes – Horseracing news
Colour Vision and Cavalryman are set to take on each other in the Seymour Pierce Henry II Stakes at Sandown in England on Thursday, May 30, 2013.
The latter of the two stallions has been performing well in the ongoing season, so his confidence level will be quite high right now. His overall strike rate is not an impressive one though, which will be a touch concerning for his fans.
The seven-year-old horse has appeared in a total of 30 races until now, which means that he is experienced enough to handle pressure at the highest level. He has managed to succeed in seven events and the most recent of those victories came this year.
Due to this, his trainer Saeed bin Suroor will be looking forward to a solid result in the Pierce Henry II Stakes.
However, Cavalryman has not been rated as the top favourite to claim the Sandown event, as there are some other solid challengers up against him. One of those stallions is Colour Vision, who is also trained by Saeed bin Suroor.
Therefore, the veteran trainer will be quite happy at the moment, as his runners have managed to get the attention of the bookies. He would want both of them to finish in the top-three, so that he can bag the maximum amount of cash prize at the end of the
day.
Looking at the past performances of Colour Vision, it appears that the five-year-old gelding is not fully fit at the moment, as he has been struggling to find speed. He started off the 2012 season on a high, but things did not work out well for him towards
the end of the year. He has not taken part in any race this year, but has managed to get very good odds by the bookies for Sandown.
Other than Saeed bin Suroor’s duo, High Jinx is being considered as one of the top contenders for victory. Despite not having a good winning percentage, his record is a decent one, as he has only dropped out of the top-three on a couple of times.
However, the five-year-old horse needs to improve his performance in order to convert his runner up places into victories.
