How does one actually know if they are colour blind if they aren't diagnosed with it? I mean - If you were born with it, so you are used to everything the way it is, like you see one colour (e.g. green as blue or something)?

  1. Color blind does not mean blind to all colors, but usually to one or two colors, not the others.  If you can easily see the traffic light red, yellow, and green, you are probably OK.  Health clinics and some doctors offices have spiral bound small books with many colored dots and "hidden" numbers that test your vision.

  2. When mom tells you to put on your green shirt and you come out wearing a blue one.

  3. you really wouldn't be able to tell without a color vision test, because if you are colorblind, you don't know that you are not seeing the colors.  People who are colorblind probably see different levels of saturation of a color...so if they are red/green colorblind, they can tell a bit of difference between the two colors as a lighter grey or darker grey.  And they learn things like an apple is called "red" and leaves on a tree are called "green".
