Colour of light affecting the rate of photosynthesis..?

Question

when green light is shone onto plants why is less Oxygen given out and the opposite for white light? Also my results show that blue light gives out more oxygen than red light...why is that?

Green light is completely useless for plants. Plants are green to the eye because that is the light the pigment in the chlorophyll reflects. Therefore, if all the light the plant is given is being reflected, it is useless!  Other types of light have higher frequencies which cause the electrons to become more excited.

green light is completed reflected as its the colour so no light for plant when kept in green so less or nil photosynthesis but when kept all colours r absorbed except green so more photo synthesis
