Colourbearer searching for his first win on turf - Timeform.betfair.com Handicap at Brighton
Colourbearer is all set to register his first success on turf. The five-year-old has been a bit unlucky not to have won any race on turf since the start of his career.
After a decent break, Milton Bradley’s trainee is expected to make a winning return. He is a part of the confirmed entries for timeform.betfair.com Handicap, taking place at Brighton on Thursday, May 03, 2012.
The officials are due to start the show at 20:10 GMT. The 5f59y event has a cash prize of £2,264, which is reserved for the ultimate champion.
Colourbearer will show his guts against some big names such as, Speak The Truth, Waabel, Welsh Inlet, Alpha Delta Whisky and Pawan.
Colourbearer went for a long vocation after finishing third in the 32Red.com Handicap (Div II) at Southwell in November last year.
His last triumph hit the headlines in October, when he outplayed his opponents in the Elite Digital Systems Launching Systembee 01925232882 Handicap at Wolverhampton.
Speak The Truth is likely to earn decent odds, but he cannot be trusted blindly. The six-year-old started off this year with a huge bang.
The brown gelding sealed two back-to-back wins to make a fine impression. However, Jim Boyle’s trainee could not maintain good standards afterwards, as he did nothing special in his last few appearances.
In his single outing last month, the son of Statue Of Liberty finished sixth in the Europa Quality Print Classified Claiming Stakes at Lingfield.
Waabel was not impressive at all last time out. At the end of last month, the five-year-old ended up ninth in the Mascot Grand National Here 07.05.12 Handicap at Kempton.
However, the punters do not need much of a memory to recall his last success. Europa Quality Print Classified Claiming Stakes saw him topping the chart by a short head’s distance.
Colourbearer is expected to turn things around and record his maiden victory on turf. However, it will be interesting to see how he keeps his head high against the giants like Speak The Truth and Waabel.
No matter who finishes first on the podium, it will be an interesting contest. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
