Colours important in golf
Golfers adore colours. They dress for success, power or simply to show off on the golf course.
Like all other athletes, golfers are very careful of their attire on the golf course. This would be expected of the women golfers who, being women, are very mindful of their dressing.
Men are also not far behind and many top male golfers are seen in colourful combinations according to the occasion.
The colours are not restricted to clothes only. Golf clubs, accessories and even balls are now available in a wide variety of colours, to suit the needs of the individual golfers. The days of black-handle golf clubs, while golf balls and two-tone golf bags
are long gone.
Many manufacturers now offer complete set of golf clubs in any colour the player desires. The same goes for balls and other accessories.
While the range of colours is nowhere near the multitude of colours available in clothing, the coloured accessories and clubs are available in all major colours.
Colour impact theory is a thoroughly researched field that has its basis in psychology. Colours do affect human psychology and certain colours have been designated as power colours. They have a powerful impact on both, the persons wearing the colours and
those round them.
The power colours differ in every sport. In golf, the power colours have undergone a slight change.
Black and white used to be the power colours for men while women were used to multicolour patterns and designs. The clubs were black tipped and the balls were a uniform white.
Fast forward to present and the power colours have changed completely. Both men and women prefer single colours that reflect their personalities. The power colours for men are pink, black and red. For women, the new power colours are red, pink and pastels.
Golf accessories have undergone a colour makeover. Complete sets are available in pink, white, red and other major colours.
Some players opt for a power combination that comprise of two or more colours. Each colour represents a certain side of their game and the equipment is usually colour coded.
