Colt Knost leads the RBC Heritage by two strokes
Colt Knost is leading the RBC Heritage after two rounds. He played a bogey-free round on Friday, shooting a 9-under 133 at the end of the day.
The 26-year-old American professional golf player is hoping to record his first victory at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
He is doing a great job. He started the tournament on Thursday and scored five impressive birdies and only one bogey throughout the day. His performance is up to the mark and he is competing well for the title.
Then on Friday, he further improved his performance and made a quick start by scoring two consecutive birdies on the 1st and 2nd hole. Then he made two pars and shot another birdie.
He finished the front nine holes by making four pars, from the 6th to the 9th hole. His appealing strokes continued on the back nine holes. He added two more birdies and seven pars amazingly.
"I don't know if I just didn't continue with the same work ethic or not or I didn't have the belief, but it was a struggle for a few years out here," Knost said. "But now I feel like I'm starting to get my game back where I like it".
He added, "I felt so comfortable out there being around the lead, even though it's only Friday. I'm also going to feel great this weekend".
Now, he is aiming to win the title. He appears to be close to victory, as only two rounds are left and he can be the proud winner of the title. He only needs o continue scoring well on Saturday and Sunday.
"I felt like I was ready for this level out here," Knost said. "And apparently, I wasn't".
The current world number one Luke Donald was tied for the 56th position on Friday. He is lacking in displaying his leading strokes.
He made only one birdie in the first round and three in the second, shooting a 2-over 144 in total.
Carl Pettersson is on the runner-up position, two strokes behind Knost. Knost is left with ample chances to be impressive in the upcoming rounds and win his first PGA Tour title.
