Colts’ Peyton Manning may return before end of current season, says brother Eli – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback Peyton Manning might be able to make a comeback before the end of the current season of American football’s premier league, National Football League (NFL).
These words of the new optimism came from not Peyton himself but his younger brother, the New York Giants ‘quarterback Eli Manning. He said that Peyton might be able to recover from his neck injury well before the end of the current
NFL season to join Indianapolis.
"Maybe he could be back this year," Eli told USA TODAY. "I don't know if that's the smart thing under the circumstances, but I expect him to be back next year."
Eli said that he was really encouraged by the pace of recovery and progress that his brother had been making.
"He's always been a fast healer. He wants to be out there," Eli said. "He's being aggressive in his rehab and looking to get back on the field as soon as possible. He looks into every possibility, every opportunity, to get back
as soon as possible."
Peyton has been ruled for current season due to severity of his neck injury. He was injured on September 8, and has not taken part in any game or practice session since.
Last week he told the media that he was waiting for his fusion to heel after the neck surgery before regeneration of the nerve.
It has been widely accepted that he was out for the current season of the game, and Colts had already starting thinking about the options in post-Peyton Manning era, even claiming that Peyton himself was aware of such a consideration
by the Colts.
According to the Indianapolis Colts chairman Bill Polian he had already discussed the idea with Manning and has his backing to it. However, he said that nothing would be discussed on the issue before April next year.
Peyton’s brother has now given a new hope for his brother’s return before the end of season, saying that he was working very hard and his injury might allow him to recover timely. If so then Peyton’s return will be a major boost
for the Colts who are currently the only winless team this season, standing at an abysmal 0-10.
