Colts’ quarterback Peyton Manning cleared to intensify workout, no timetable for return – NFL News
Tests results of Peyton Manning scans have all cleared him for intensification of his workout, paving the way to his recovery, which he and his team now hope could be possible in current football season.
Despite that the results had been very encouraging the player was not given any timetable for his return.
Manning's doctor said that he was able to have progressed well since his neck surgery in September this year. The player is all cleared to intensify his workout, he said. However, there was no timetable for him that when he can
join his squad for practice and play.
"X-ray and CT examination of the surgical area shows that the fusion performed in September has achieved firm fixation," Dr Robert Watkins said in statement which was released in approval from Manning's team.
"Peyton will now be allowed to increase the intensity and breadth of his workouts as tolerated. There remains every indication that his recovery will continue. There still is no timetable for Peyton's return to practice, which
is one of many steps in his expected return to game action," he said.
Manning said that he was encouraged from his doctor’s opinion and that he was happy to increase his rehabilitation programme. He added that he expected a regular progress in his recovery process.
He even expressed his optimism to join the Colts in practice session sometime this month, but hold back to give any specific dateline. He went on to say that his recovery might allow him to play for his team sometime late this
season.
Peyton Manning is out of the Colts side after have been inflicted a neck injury a couple of months ago. From status of his injury after the surgery on his neck in September this year, doctors had almost been uncertain about his
return to play this season.
Even his team management had discussed with him their desire for looking for a suitable player to replace him. He has been agreed to their proposal, according to Indianapolis Colts vice chairman Bill Polian.
The latest tests however have proved otherwise, giving him and his team management to set fresh hopes for his return in later part of current season.
