Colts’ running back Joseph Addai positive about Peyton Manning’s recovery – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts running back Joseph Addai said on Thursday that their quarterback Peyton Manning’s recovery was coming along well and that the player was throwing some good balls.
Addai’s positive statement about the Manning’s recovery comes a couple of days after the Colts vice chairman Bill Polian ruled the player out of the current regular season of National Football League (NFL)
Polian said that there was no chance for timely recovery of Manning to participate in their next two games and they will wait for his return next season.
Colts coach Jim Caldwell came with further disclosure next day that Peyton Manning will not join the squad for practice this season at all. The coach believed that Manning was better off to recover through individual workout.
Both the managers have come out with their respective statements a day after the Indianapolis Colts managed to pull off their first victory of the season. It was also their first win without Peyton Manning in last 14 years.
Joseph Addai was one of the three players who received throws from Manning in their practice last week.
"He's not throwing deep-level passes, but the short stuff is really good enough to play," Addai said. "He's coming along good. He's looking good and he throws a good ball."
Manning had joined the Colts for practice following permission by his doctor to intensify his workout. However, it was only for a day as the team coach next day confirmed that the player will not practice again with the team. He
will be doing individual workouts instead, he said.
The coach’s statement about the player has surprisingly come with only two games left in the current season to close. He inspite of his neck injury had been on the Colts active roster throughout the season with hopes of his return
at some point.
The Indianapolis Colts are up against the American Football Conference (AFC) south winner the Houston Texans this Thursday night with hopes to pull off an upset. They with the score of 1-14 are at the bottom of the league. Their
last week’s win over the Tennessee Titans has helped them to avoid to have gone down to 0-16 score in a season.
It is not sure if the Colts will play their next season with Manning, either. They deserve a top draft pick, and there is already a controversy over their choice: who will be their next quarterback? A new draft pick or the veteran
Peyton Manning?
