Columbian red tail boa shedding?

my red tail boa was shedding and i didnt realise it until the skin came off and he didnt turn i greyish color like my ball python and i couldnt tell i dont want to get bit again because my boa was shedding it is 5ft how can i tell when hes shedding please give me a source

  1. When the boa sheds, it will have some discoloration but the easy way to notice if you cannot notice the color change is the eyes. You'll see the eyes glaze over and go to a silver/white. As w/ all snakes though, they will go to their normal look right before they shed but you will notice the tell tale signs prior to this.


  2. on average every nine weeks tho feeding often or not can change it slightly, look at the eyes, they cloud over when sloughing and make sure it has a water source deep enough to lie in to help

  3. the eyes will tirn bluish, skin will turn greyish

    snakes make great pets u have 2 really aweome snkaes by the way. Just watch for those signs. If u don't already know, just makin sure u do, they don't eat while shedding

  4. Their eyes will turn gray and their skin will turn dull in color also. I'm sure it did, maybe you just missed it? because they turn back to normal just a few days before they actually shed their skin.
