Columbus Blue Jackets plays host to the Los Angeles Kings in their fourth and final meeting
The second game of Friday will be played at the Nationwide Arena as the home team Columbus Blue Jackets play host to the Los Angeles Kings.
This will be the fourth and final meeting between the two teams during the course of the season.
Out of the three meetings that have taken place between the two teams during the season so far, the Blue Jackets won the first game while the Kings won the last two games.
In their last game, both teams came up with some brilliant ice hockey which resulted in the game being level at the end of regulation time. However, the Kings managed to score and win the game 4-3 after shootout with Jarret Stoll scoring the winning goal.
The Blue Jackets were going through some good times in the season when suddenly there was a fall in their performances. The Blues Jackets were in the play-off cut but recently their form has pushed them down in the league and out of the play-off cut. The
Kings on the other hand are no different as once they were looking to challenge the Conference leaders but now they occupy the final position for the play-off qualification.
The Blue Jackets were like us all set to play in the play-offs but their disastrous performances in the lasts six games has seen them fall way behind as now they are eight points behind the final play-off position.
Things don’t look good and neither are they going to get better as the Kings are among some of the toughest teams to score against.
Though there have been outstanding performances from players in the roster but their failure to find the back of the net on regular basis has resulted in their form dropping.
The most disappointing thing is that their captain, Rick Nash, who was once leading from the front has gone seven games without a single point.
The Blue Jackets have played 66 games during the course of the season out of which they have won 31 games in regulation time, nine games in overtime to score a total of 71 points.
The Kings have played 67 games out which they have won 37 games in regulation time, five games in overtime to score a total of 79 points.
The Kings started off their most 10 games road trip started off in brilliant fashion but lost the last three games which hurt them a great deal. Coupled with this is the poor performance while playing on home ice.
The Kings will definitely come out strong as they require the win as their spot and play-off spot is in jeopardy. Both teams are expected to come up with a strong show as they look to win and notch up important points.
