Columbus Blue Jackets win 4-0 against the Nashville Predators

Another one of the important games of Tuesday was hosted by the Columbus Blue Jackets as they were up against the Nashville Predators at the Nationwide Arena. The game was very important with the Predators looking to looking to stay in the top half of the
tables while the Blue Jackets were looking to make it into the cut.
The game was pretty much even during the course of the first two periods but the Blues Jackets scored four goals in the final period to win the game 4-0 in the end. Captain Rick Nash of the Blue Jackets was the star selection of the game as he scored two
goals.
The Blue Jackets, much to the delight of the fans made a great start in the first period as they fired shots. The home team dominated the proceedings early on and displayed outclass ice hockey early on. However, they weren’t able to take advantage from the
brilliant start they made.
The Predators chipped in with a few shots but they weren’t able to find the back of the net either. The period saw the Blue Jackets catching pace as the period neared its end but the score line didn’t change as the period ended.
The scores were level on 0-0 with the Predators making 6 goal attempts in the period while the Blue Jackets made 13 goal attempts.
The second period a change in fortunes for the Predators as they emerged as the dominating force in the period who were inch perfect in defence and very strong in play making throughout the 20 minutes of play.
At one stage it looked as if there would couple of the goals in the period but again the frontline wasn’t able to capitalize from the numerous chances they got. The period ended with the Blue Jackets coming up with a few shots but the scores were still deadlocked
on 0-0 as the second period ended. During the course of the period the Blue Jackets made just four goal attempts while the Predators ended up firing 11 shots on goal.
The home team started the final period on a high and this time they scored through Captain Rick Nash to get into the lead in the 2nd minute. The productive Blue Jackets team in period was able to score score once again in the 5th minute
to double their lead with the goal scored by Matt Calvert during power play.
Things looked to settle down with the dominating Blue Jackets not attacking that much. However, they stepped up once again and successfully scored another goal in the 10th minute through Antoine Vermette. The Blue Jackets sealed the game with
their final goal scored by Rick Nash once again during power play in the final minute.
The period saw the Predators being restricted to almost nothing as they made just 3 goal attempts in the period while the Blue Jackets made 13 goal attempts and won the game 4-0.
