Combat robot help please!!!

hi i would like to start building combat robots but the case is that i don't have a clue on how

to do it and would like to learn and i looked on the web and found that one of the fighting robots cost around

$3000 and i dont have that much to spend. my three questions are. is there a book i can buy that may help me build 1, is there a cheap way 2 build 1, and how can i get a sponsor.

  1. There are books that you can buy.  Check out robotmarketplace.com they have books and parts for sale. Heck Barnes and Noble probably has some.  Obviously the cheaper the robot is the less capable it will be to a certain extent, this is where clever engineering comes in to make the cheapest, strongest most capable robot..  Sponsorships are not usually given to people with zero experience and know-how.  Sponsors are looking for experienced people with good chances of winning.


  2. Study mechanical engineering for 4 years, perhaps servo control and electronics for a few more, then get several hundreds of millions of dollars and a good machine shop.

    Then in a few years, you may have something.
