  1. Every one has there own preference for a boiler. Take a look at a Baxi Duo Tec 28 (it was voted No 1 by Which) its the one that has replaced the 105 He. Which has also proved to be a good boiler.

Plastic / copper? Copper when visible........ plastic for under floors etc.

  2. We have Worcester Bosch plastic to rads. We had to have a new diverter valve fitted last year, other than that good system and efficient...

  3. worcester ..plastics fine

  4. Definitely Worcester Bosch. Yes, you can use plastic pipes with speed fit connections but copper looks much better from floor/wall to radiator. Use a large main plastic pipe and reduce to copper microbore for tails to radiator.

  5. Biasi 28 condening boiler , why = efficient low maintainence ,

reliable , more hot water out put than bosh worcester , ( gas board has a deal with bosch ) half the price than bosch,

and quiet , copper tails to rads although hep 2 is ok just cant make it look neat ...

    Source : heating engineer .

prefers to reccomend reliabilty over manufactures name

  6. Worcester is what is normally used on social homes, they dont install Worcester or Vaillant, they have done their homework. and plastic pipe is fine but the fittings are bulky so copper tails coming from the floor or wall would look neater.

  7. Vaillant or Worcester Bosch is far better than a cheap and nasty Ariston boiler.

Don't be fooled into thinking a cheap boiler is better just because  in manufacture test it achieves 1 or 2% better efficacy.

Reliability, Reliability, Reliability are the 3 most importaint features and Vaillant and  Worcester Bosch are known to achieve them.

I would use copper pipe because plastic pipe expands and contracts a lot more than copper. Temperature of water heating and cooling down.will creak a lot more with plastic pipe.

But plastic is a lot cheaper to buy.

15mm plastic pipe cost 70 pence per mtr.

15mm copper pipe cost £1.67 per mtr (price changes weekly)

    (plumber).
