  1. Yes.

Xanax is a benzo/sedative and is dangerous enough on its own when abused.

Benadryl and other over-the-counter drugs account for about 300,000 Poison Control calls per year. Very easy to overdose on, and cause a lot of harmful interactions.

Not that I'm really condoning abusing either one (which you would be, if combining OTC and prescription meds), but just take one or the other. It's not worth something bad happening.

  2. There definately could be!! Since Benadryl usually makes people sleepy, combining it with the Xanax could make it alot worse!! I would ask your doctor if it's a good idea. If you absolutely HAVE to take it, don't take them at the same time. Maybe take one, and then wait a couple hours to take the other. good luck!

  3. Sedation would be the biggest concern.  It would also depend on the dose.  Benedryl is sedating to most people so would you need to couple it with Xanax?

You can call a pharmacist and ask his/her opinion.  They are more knowledgable than doctors when it comes to medication.  I've called a pharamcy before and the pharmacist helped me over the phone without knowing me or my case.
