Question:

Comcast DVR not recording series?

Currently, my DVR is 14% full. I schedule to record two programs, both HD, for a total of 1.5 hours everyday while I'm at work. It works most of the time. However, sometimes, when I get home, there will be a message saying my DVR was 100% full and that the two programs couldn't record. I'd go to my DVR and it will say that it is 100% full (which, I know is impossible because my DVR only has 2 HD hours & 2 SD hours. Comcast DVRs are suppose to be able to hold 15 HD hours or 60 SD hours). I unplugged the cable box, waited two minutes and plugged it back in. When I got to back to my DVR after plugging in the cable box, it would go back to saying that my DVR was 14% full. Is (or did) this happening to anyone else?

  1. I get this same issue all the time. Comcast solution, put a new box in and call it good. That would be great if that actually worked but it never has, and by never I mean never. I've had comcast install over 30 new boxes, yeah that's right, 30+ boxes in just 2 years. At just under $1200 a box, which is what the HD DVR boxes cost, that's over $35,000 in bad boxes just for my house alone! I don't have to pay or I'd be suing, and as it is now they're giving me highest level of service (platinum HD DVR) for $29.99 when it would normally be $120.00 a month, so I guess I have to just deal with the issues because it's obvious their service techs have no clue.

  2. Motorola 6416 ?? call comcast for new box , the hard drive is bad
