Question:

Comcast cable VS Dish Network?

We used to have insight cable, which was recently bought by COMCAST. Since Comcast has taken over, our internet has quit working and our digital DVR box is all screwed up, when we hit the guide button the colors are all distorted so we cant see whats on it. For cable 1 DVR box, and cable internet i pay approx. $110/month.

I was at a home show and looked thru the Dish network booth and read some info but i wanted to see what everyones thoughts were on it. Is it better or worse? Is the pricing competitive? Any Info is appreciated!

  1. We had Comcast when we lived in Atlanta and it was bad.  We would go days without tv, internet, and phone....

When we moved we got Dish and I've been impressed with it.  Dish has dual receivers that save you money over direct.  We have four tvs so we got 2 dual receivers and all four tvs watch different programs.  With Direct we would have had to get 4 boxes and paid extra for them.

If you sign up for Dish, check out the 722.  We are amazed by the picture quality and how easy it is to use.

One suggestion, go thru a local retailer when you sign up.  Our retailer was here the next day after I called him for the install.  I hit the dish recently with a lawn mower and the retailer was here within an hour.  The customer service is much better than you will get from an 800 number.

  2. get direct tv they have been #1 for the last 5 years :+)

    Lucesala:+)

  3. both of those suck get direct tv

  4. every cable system is different

you might find dish better now that you have hd

but you will not get the high speed internet

you need to weigh things and see where you need the most

  5. comcast is the cheapest all around right now in the midwest.

I would call them as often as needed to get things corrected.

  6. well i dont know what dish network costs but comcast is bad 4 a wallet
