I recently purchased a DCH3200 comcast cable box on Ebay, thinking I would splice one of my cable connections and add a tv to my work shop, when I received the box it worked ok but I'm only able to recieve a few channels and not all the basic channels that I receive from my other box. is there something I can do to get the box to receive the basic channels? I only recieve 2-25 and some HD channels but not all the basic channels like Espn and AMC

  1. Cable boxes are addressable.   This means that they have a specific unique number that tells comcast which channels you subscribe to.   Your new box is not in their system and therefore, you are not receiving any channels beyond the basic few that will work even without a box.

I don't think that comcast will recognize a box that they did not lease to you directly.   Sorry
