Hi, I have had comcast for the past two years. When I received it, I got the deluxe package with all the hd channels, and they supposedly gave me an hd box. I have a panasonic 1080i hdtv connected by component cables to the cable box, and when I go to an hd channel, there is absolutely NO difference in quality of the picture. I am sure it is not the TV because when I play xbox 360, and put it on 1080i hd, there is a large visible difference. The only difference of the channels is that the standard definition channels are off by a couple seconds compared to the hd ones, and some hd channels look zoomed in, like the logo for the USA channel is cut off. I have read online about people talking about a switch on the cable box to switch to 720 and 1080, but that switch is not on my cable box whatsoever. If anyone has any suggestions, (I'm waiting to see if I have to go to comcast or not) I will be greatly appreciative. And also, the xbox 360 was connected via component cables. Thanks!

  1. You need an expert to look at it. Sounds like you have the wrong box, or not hooked up for HDTV at the Comcast center. (Since you do NOT get HD without the proper working HDTV cable box). Show their technician the difference between an HD broadcast and your x-box 360. Comcast does send out 1080i on their HD services. They have good and lousy technicians. I would suggest a Supervisor to asses the situation.
