Comcast digital cable help?!?

I have had comcast digital cable for a while now, and it recently has been giving me some trouble. Every couple minutes, the screen will go black, then come back on, or just get really pixelly and skip. I don't know how to fix it. I've already tried re-connecting all the wires and it did nothing. Thanks!!!!

  1. ummm call comcast.  simple as that


  2. Sometimes rebooting the box helps. Just shut it down for 30 seconds and then let it reload.

  3. You might have outdated software on your box. The next thing I would do after checking connections would be the give the box a forced reset. It is easy,

    1) turn your TV and box on and watch a digital channel

    2) go up to the cable box power cord and unplug the wire from the wall while it is on

    3) wait 60 second

    4) plug it back in

    5) watch the TV and what the cable box is doing

    Forced reset! This makes your cable box go back and check the software version you have, your account information and you status. I did these all the time on service calls. If your box takes about ten minutes to come back you got a new software download. I hope this helps, Good Luck.
