Has anyone seen this http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080829/wr_nm/comcast_internet_dc

I was just thinking I wounder if they well get in any trouble over this.

They still have year long packages out with no limits .

Plus they don't like to tell anyone of changes until there's a big bill or problems.

Anyone have any ideas?

  1. I hate Comcast as much as the next person, especially after the h**l they put me through in July, but this is actually a good thing. Until now they've always advertised "unlimited" service that they didn't deliver. They would cut off high-bandwidth users, but there was no way to know what the level was. At least this way you know what the rules are, assuming the Comcast does what they say they will (a big assumption, I know).

  2. They probably wont.

    1. With their technique of overselling, most people won't be able to reach that limit anyway.

    2. Other ISP's have been limiting monthly bandwidth for years, and they haven't gotten into any serious trouble.

  3. I think it's just the beginning of the control they're going to make over the internet. I know at some point they'll be limiting even high-speed to packages and a channel like structure.
