Comcast wireless Internet?

Okay, so I have comcast wireless internet. I have the little white box with the antenna(I forget the technical name). Problem is that it turns off frequently, so far I have not been able to solve the problem. If anyone could help, then thankies. Second, until I get it fixed I want to use the modem directly. You see, the white box is connected to my computer via Ethernet. But, like I mentioned, if it turns off there goes the internet. So, what do I have to do to use the modem? I have tried connecting it to my computer through the Ethernet cable, but still nothing. Do I have to change something in "Network Connections" or whatever it is called?

  1. With high speed internet you computer will automatically detect the connection when the Ethernet is plugged in. If your router is erratically shutting off then you would want to pull the ethernet cable directly from the modem to your computer.
