Come On Blue Chip to intimidate the Britannia Stakes’ line-up at Ascot

The Class 2 Britannia Stakes (Heritage Handicap) has brought together an uncertain and unpredictable line-up of thirty three-year-old runners. They will race at Ascot over a mile on Thursday, 21st June. The winner gets to take home the prize money
worth £62,250.
Among the candidates who are not really different from one another, an interesting entry is Come On Blue Chip, Holy Roman Emperor’s three-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Rapid Action. He has raced twice during the new season and out of the pair of ventures,
won one.
His seasonal debut was in the Follow Us On Twitter @Blueq Handicap on 3rd February at Lingfield over a mile and two furlongs. Capturing the race was Shabora while the 2/1 favourite of the race, Come On Blue Chip, concluded the race just behind
the winner.
Making peace with the third position was Moderator.
The second chance to win presented itself in the form of the Free Betting On Your Mobile With Freebetting.Co.UK Handicap on 8th March at Wolverhampton over a mile and half a furlong.
This he won with a margin of four and a half lengths with Adam Kirby onboard. Qualifying as the runner up was Berlusca while the third slot was filled up by Rosby Waves.
The 2/1 favourite of the event, Bareback, ended fifth on the track of seven.
This will be his first experience at Ascot and a straight third time that he will get paired up with Adam Kirby. Breaking from the twenty-eighth stall means that he will be towards the far outside and the two will have to engineer a technique to tackle the
heavy traffic.
He will need to look out for the three-year-old Bronze Angel who has been active thrice during the season and has got two of those outings under his belt. He won the Forest Row Handicap as the evening’s favourite on 14th January at Lingfield over
a mile.
After finishing sixth in the second try of the season, he bounced back and won the Frenchgate First For Fashion Handicap on 19th May at Doncaster over a mile.
Fourth race down the season and who knows that he might just claim the third success of the 2012 campaign.
