Come in Michael Vaughan, your time is up?

At his very best he is some batsman, but let's face it, we've only ever seen his very best in small patches and I can't remember the last one. This is his last series as an England player. Agreed?

Oh and his fielding is below club standard.

  1. Typical England fan!!! criticising instead of getting on the teams side!!

Removing him from captaincy because a couple of bad scores would be way too drastic!! Michael Vaughan has done a lot for English cricket, with his batting and captaincy!! so removing him after a bad year is pathetic!!

The man is out of form!! Its not like suddenly he has become a bad player!! England have stuck by players in recent times when they are going through bad patches (like Geraint Jones, Ian Bell and most recently Paul Collingwood)

You have to remember that form is temporary, CLASS IS PERMANENT!!

Vaughan averaged over 50 last year in test cricket.

Vaughan has been one of the most consistent England batsmen over the last 30 years for England.

Not to mention that he is a superb captain and a great man to have in the dressing room! Getting rid of the captain at this stage would stink of panic, and it would certainly make the dressing room and uneasy place to be!!

Stick with the player, instead of criticizing him!!

  2. Ever heard of Mike Brearley? Many people believe he was one of England's finest ever captains, but his captaincy alone kept him in the team.

Vaughan is starting to become another Brearley.

I don't think Vaughan's patchy form would matter if the other batters were a little more consistent.

  3. Thank You he should retire and giv captaincy to Kevin.P Or sumfin    The south african team are brill  specially graham smith   im from england btw

  4. give him time till winter tours , if he still is not performing his time is up

  5. Another duck. Collingwood did  not justify his comeback too. Yes, it looks like Vaughan is running his last lap.

  6. I don't think he'll be dropped just yet but his days are definitely numbered if he can't get some runs soon. His performances over the last year have sporadic to say the least.

I think Collingwood has more of a chance of being permanently dropped at the moment, he took 22 balls to score 4! He didn't justify being back in the team.

  7. Definitely

  8. Judging from the form of Vaughan and Collingwood, it is harder to get out of the England team, than it is to get in it.

Vaughan gets so excited when he fields the ball, he appeals for a catch.

  9. Hm. Its true that Vaughan is not at his best now. But i suppose he is in the team mainly for his leadership skills. If he is replaced, there is no one to replace him as skipper. Collingwood, is also out of form. If KP is made skipper, it'll affect his batting. Who else is there? So i suppose Vaughan will lead the side till the next Ashes.

  10. he has miserable run.. he should drop now if hes not perform in next inning

  11. Most definitely YES, this would be his last series if SA win it 2-0 or 3-0. He's got strike form and play consistenly, for heavens sake.
