Question:

Comfort Gare de L`Est Hotel? Question related to reviews of the hotel..?

I plan to stay in Paris for 7 days in Mar. After reading the reviews of the hotel, all of which say something like it is in a terrible neighborhood, not to be outside of the hotel late at night, etc. My question may sound crazy but what are people considering late at night in Paris? After midnight? I've heard that people generally eat dinner around 9pm. When should I return to the hotel if it is considered not safe "late at night"? I plan to stay there despite the reviews so I'm not curious about other hotels. Thank you!

  1. I just looked up the address of the hotel.

Don't worry, it is in a safe neighborhood. (There are very few unsafe places in Paris.). It is more "ethnic" than average, that's all. The "passage Brady" nearby has indian and pakistani restaurants.

On tripadvisor, the rating over 30 reviews is 2.5 'stars' over 5, so that's pretty good.

Enjoy your stay and don't worry !

PS: Before midnight is not late.

  2. Given the location of the hotel I suspect that they mean anytime after dark.

This is a poor hotel choice and cannot fathom why you are dead set on staying there.
