Help me here people! I'm gonna take my sisters to the airport in Tijuana(Tj) but people have been telling me that you dont need a passport to come back into the U.S. if traveling by land or water. All you need is gov. ID(got that) and birth certificate BUT i was born in mexico! So will I be able to come back in if i just have my California ID or License?

Thanks

  1. dont worry about it dude i go to tijuana once a month and i come back to the USA with my Licensce. But u should still get ur passport as soon as possible because starting next year you are going to need your passaport to cross the border in car

  2. You just need your license.  Official site says bring your birth cert.  No fruit, veggies or glass smoking devices can come back.  Line is long at peak hrs.

  3. Yes this is true. Congress moved back the date for land travel passport requirements til 2009. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/1...

  4. Ive crossed back into san ysidro from TJ dozens of times without a problem, just show them your id,say "im an American citizen"and theyll wave you in no problem

  5. Passport is still not a mandatory document to go out, across and back to the states, but I think it's going to be soon.

Any other piece of valid ID is still good if you are able to answer the officer's questioning if necessary.

  6. dude what if something happend i would just have a passport to be on the safe side

  7. Have them walk across the border and get the bus to the airport. Hassle free.
