many people have said to consider fundraisers (bake sales, car washes so & so on)

getting a job, but im only 15 and only can work a number of hours a week along with school which probably wont cover the amount needed

or possibly sponsors ?

but i dont have ap classes or a 4.0 to deserve that or anything special to make someone want to just hand me over money

all i want to know is do i have any hope of these dreams coming true or is my head just stuck in the clouds

  1. Fundraisers are definitely a good idea as well as a job. If you go through AFS (which I Highly recommend you do!) they have scholarships that you can apply for that will pay for part of it. Another idea is that maybe you can earn as much money now as you can then ask your parents to pay for the rest and then after your exchange year you can gradually start paying them back. Don't give up on this! It's such a good experience and worth every last penny! But if in the end it's just not possible (hopefully not!) you can always consider hosting an exchange student which is really fun! I know from experience =) And AFS is always looking for more host families.

    Good Luck!
