Command prompt - cd-rom?

windows not loading trying system restore disc on disc 2options option1=restore (lose all files), option 2= make backup then restore, when activated prompt (A:\>) need to be (D:\>). what command needed ?

  1. Your question leaves many unanswered questions.  The simply answer is type D: to get to the CD rom - but chances are you don't have a cdrom driver loaded in either the config sys or the autoexec.bat.  That is where you need to start.


  2. Before you try this, have you tried booting into safe mode and doing a system restore? Try that before you wipe your hard drive.

  3. cd d:\      

    change directory!
