Question:

Commentators' bloopers, anyone?

I heard about the famous one: "The batsman's Holding, the bowler's Willey". Hilarious when you sit down to think about it. Actually, I remembered it after Bingalee's question about Willey yesterday.

Does anyone have any more bloopers to share?

  1. well there was the time in the Tsunami benefit match when Jason Gilespie was commentating with John Howard (prime minister at the time for those of you overseas) and turned around and asked him if he would ever consider growing a mullet!!

also i cant remember the names of anyone involved in the incident, but i have heard of a british commentator once (in the 50s or 60s i think) commentating on a match where a batsman was "struck in the groin" and when the batsman recovered to face the next delivery the commentator has said something along the lines of "batsmans ready, the bowler comes in, one ball remaining". now if you actually think about it, its quite clever, since i dont think it was the last delivery of the over lol
