i was at the races friday and sunday. we chose not to go on saturday...it's really creepy how it all happened. there one second, gone the next. sunday was a very sad day and walking past his pit area it was hard not to stare and just wonder how difficult it must be for his crew, and everyone really. i know that there's comments about there being a wall at the end of the track but literally less than 100 yards from the end of the track is pension rd....a main road...and a parking lot. the wall is there to protect past the end of the track, obviously not the driver. it is a trade off that englishtown and all the racers that race there must make. its hard to imagine he would have survived impact with anything, including the trees that lie behind the wall and any oncoming cars.
i am wondering, however, how come they took him to the hospital as espn2 reported before they announced he had died? was he really already dead as i have been hearing? were they just saying they took him?
