Comments anyone on Paris Hotels? Hotel du Champ de Mars, Hotel des Grandes Ecoles, or Hotel du Nord et l'Est

I'm trying to choose a good value and all right, kinda romantic for our anniversary. I want a small French place but my husband is fine with the Best Western!

Without the shadow of a doubt: Hôtel des Grandes Ecoles. Best location and excellent reviews on all sites.

The other two are definitely good value too but not that well located. The Champs de Mars hotel is near the Eiffel Tower but apart from the tower, there is nothing to do or see there within walking distance. As for the other one, even though it is a short walk to the Marais, the République/Oberkampf district is not ideal for tourists and definitely not that romantic.

Since it's for an anniversary I would suggest an "hôtel de charme", which the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles is. Those are charming hotels with either period furniture or tasteful decor, often with a romantic atmosphere. But Hotel des Grandes Ecoles has a perfect location, is such good value and gets such good reviews that I would stick with it.

Stayed in a very beautiful, quaint, romantic hotel 9 years ago. I revisted this lovely hotel again over  this past Christmas.  They had since hired a professional decorator and it is gorgeous.  It was great to be back.

We also stayed in a Marriott on Victor Hugo Blvd.  It was near the train station (Metro) a couple of blocks away.  That is a very nice area and the price was very reasonable (plus we got points!).  Or, you can go to another site and rent a Paris apartment:http://studio.provaction.com/index.html

Can you tell that I love, love, LOVE Paris??? Stay somewhere comfortable and a splurge.  This is PARIS.  You can always stay in a budget place when you go to a regular vacation or trip!!!
