  1. Look at the Aprilia Shiver 750

  2. I am probably biased here because the speed triple has got to be the best engine without a doubt in mind. I don't own one either. In my book the speed triple wins based on a master of an engine, that will require less and last longer. This is not just lip service or an opinion, it's highly regarded for the engine and a well documented and supported opinion.

  3. The Triumph has to be the best value for the money.  It's a tremendous bike and is almost always listed among the best bikes for the year.  As the other guy said, it has one of the best engines out there.

I don't know how tall you are, but have read many reports that the Brutale is cramped for riders 6' and over.  But it does look pretty cool,  you have to give it some bonus points for that.  It is also the rarest of this group, at least around where I live.

The monster is probably the most dated design in this bunch, but if  you can get your hands on a S4R Tri-colore, that would be something pretty special.  I have heard that Ducati plans to release 10 all new models over the next two years, and expect the S4R to be much updated, similar to what they did with the 695/696.

My pick today would be for the Triumph, but there isn't a bad choice with any of them.
