Postscript to a storm

By C.S. Scotkin

The rain has stopped,

no mercy fell

with clots of hellish moisture.

Clouds that dissolve

ascend from the roads

scalding steam demons release.

Torture the joints,

amputation

on the oaken battlefield.

All is quiet,

dares not to wake

resting, raging Nature’s sleep.

  1. Very nice beginning, then lost it's flow just a little in the middle. Still well penned.

  2. And they called the wind, Mariah.....

Each time I read something and am reminded of a song, I play it.  I have the Mariah song by 7 different artists, and now I am listening...

  3. It still is missing something. Just a little more work.

    It's interesting though.

  4. miles to go before i sleep and

miles to go before i sleep

  5. Your last stanza is interesting, to me I had to reread to understand not to wake a resting "raging Nature".  Loved the image of scalding demons release.  P.S.  Good!
