Commercial Aircraft opportunties.?

What are some opportunties that the industry of commercial aircraft may face in the future.

I think they should focus on trying to find more fuel efficent engines for their jets, that will increase profits, they would be able to carry more passengers instead of carrying more fuel.

Being more fuel efficient and some how make planes less harmful to the environment.I can't speak for airbus but I know that Boeing is working on those opportunities.

Engines that make less noise than previous generation. All the more crucial for people that leave near a busy airport or directly beneath a flight path.

Implement an alternative fuel to Jet A . Will not happen anytime soon though.

Space travel with commercial airplanes reaching far and beyond altitudes where the sky turns darkish blue.

A revival of Supersonic travel.
