Commercially available diesel fuel in the Philippines is Kerosene based?

Just wondering if the Diesel fuel available in my country is kerosene based.

  1. In the Philippines, most diesel is probably No.2 diesel.  This is somewhat heavier than kerosene.  No.1 diesel is mostly kerosene.  Jet fuel is kerosene and will work fine in most diesel engines.


  2. Diesel fuel is mostly kerosene with a little lubricating oil added.

    Do not use pure stove or heater or jet fuel grade  kerosene in a diesel. What is called smoke less kerosene.

    With  it they have removed the oil so that it will not smoke.

    the oil lubricates the fuel pump and injector system.

    without it you may  damage these parts.

    If you want to run it in a diesel engine you need to add 1 gal of 30 weight non detergent motor oil to 50 gals of kerosene.
