Is anyone else a bit ticked when commercials say this "it's better than the other leading brand"

I get so mad I'm like, Ok could you tell me the name of the "other leading brand"

This is why I like the Alltel Wireless commercials, they aren't afraid to diss the competion in thier face. -.-

  1. One possible reason:

Since viewers aren't generally giving their full attention during commercials, it's believed that if you mention your competitor's name in your ad, viewers might mistake your commercial for being one of their's. For example: Miller is better than Bud. Viewers who are just paying slight attention to that commercial could easily swap the brands, thinking the commercial said Bud is better than Miller.

  2. I don't think they're permitted to use "the leading brand's" name legally.

  3. They have to endorse their product..... so they have to boast.

If you have it, flunk it!
