  1. The most common academic distraction is not academics.

    A quick (non-academic) enquiry of those nearby indicate students are most distracted by:

    1. boys (or girls) and thoughts thereof

    2. sounds (abrupt sounds, never ending sounds, and even the "Sounds of Silence")

    3. sports (time away for practice and competing; time home on the couch with the remote control viewing others practicing and competing)

    4. jobs

    5. friends/roommates/family and associated fun and duties

    6. fear/inaction (worrying about school causes one to waste enormous amounts of time ... Stop fretting about school ... Just do it!)
